Josh Folkers is a well accomplished young musician from Hawkes Bay who has been involved with music since he was 7 years old, first learning the guitar then moving onto piano, which swiftly became his first instrument. As well as this Josh is a well accomplished vocalist who recently toured China with the New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir and has sung at many concerts around Aotearoa and Hawkes Bay.
Josh attended Havelock North High School and has been involved in many musical performances both in and outside of school, most recently in Theatre Hawkes Bay's Heathers: the Musical.
Music has always been a huge part of Josh’s life and he understands what the power of learning music holds on the younger generations. Because of this he likes to conduct his lessons in a student-led teacher-guided fashion, as he believes encouraging his students to learn music that they enjoy is one of the best ways to progress within their chosen instrument.
He is thrilled to be passing on his knowledge of music and performance to our students.
