HENRY ALEXANDER
Guitar and Bass guitar lessons
Individual mentoring
Henry has been playing guitar and bass both in solo projects and in bands for nearly 20 years, and is currently playing at bars, clubrooms, wineries, and private gigs across Hawkes Bay as the lead guitarist for the band The Mizerables. While obtaining his Bachelor's degree at Victoria University of Wellington, Henry wrote and recorded with his band The Strugs, who played throughout the Wellington region.
He's received various accolades for his musicianship over the years, including winning "Best Song" in the Hawkes Bay regional finals for The Smokefree Rockquest in 2010.
Henry is a self-diagnosed "riff-addict" and likes nothing more than listening to, analysing, and producing music. His teaching style guides his students towards prioritising and developing their ear first and foremost, through playing the songs they know and love. Doing this makes for musicians who are quicker at finding the chords, arranging the song pattern and getting in the groove.
Henry tutors bass and guitar for both groups and individuals, and has a student-centric methodology that puts a student's goals, strengths, and learning styles at the forefront of every lesson
